Summer Youth Enrollment Program

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation’s largest youth employment program, connecting NYC youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer.

Participants have the opportunity to explore their interests and career pathways, develop workplace skills and engage in learning experiences that help in developing their social, civic and leadership skills. By participating in structured project and work-based opportunities, NYC youth are better prepared for careers of the future.

Training Opportunity Program

Training Opportunity Program (TOP Jobs), is a student employment program for anyone ages 14-21 with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Any student who is part of TOP Jobs will receive a stipend at the end of each month for the time they have worked. Students will be able to choose a job that is supervised by a dedicated QHST teacher. Jobs vary from Respect For All to Website Journalism to Mouse Squad. Many TOP Jobs are on school grounds although employment in the community is also possible. Students may work up to 3 hours a day and this work can be from before or after the student's academic schedule or during a free period. Student currently earn $15.00 an hour.
