School Leadership Team (SLT)

What is the School Leadership Team?

The School Leadership Team (SLT) are vehicles for developing school-based educational policies and ensuring that resources are aligned to implement those policies. SLTs assist in the evaluation and assessment of a school’s educational programs and their effects on student achievement. SLTs play a significant role in creating a structure for school-based decision making and shaping the path to collaborative school culture. The members that make up the SLT are the Principal, the Parent-Teacher Association President, the school United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Chapter Leader, an equal amount of elected parents and staff of the school, for high schools a minimum of 2 students, and a representatives from community-based organizations (CBOs) that work with the school (if available).
